LINCOLN – Nebraska's snowplow wranglers are saddling up a high-tech helper this winter in hopes of preserving an increasingly rare commodity: money. Over the past month, workers have begun to install GPS tracking devices in 100 of the
state's 600 snowplows as Two state roads employees from western Nebraska, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, questioned why the state was spending money on such frills when there's talk of laying off or furloughing state workers.
